The problem I'm having is that both of the above methods do an "auto-fade" that starts automatically or on SceneStart / SceneEnd. I may try again, however, because the current method I am using - the GuiTexture based screen fader outlined in the Stealth project - isn't working out too well I have considered PsychicParrot's method using OnGUI DrawTexture, but have had some problems with it. I'm having some difficulties, mostly due to the fact that the different actions I want to do are on scripts attached to various objects (so I'm trying to deal with things like SendMessages and static vars to pass things back and forth) Then, after the video, I want to fade back in from black for the new life. I'm trying to fade the screen to black when a player dies, then show a little "death animation" on the screen (using a modified version of Kahalany's Universal Video Texture - so, essentially I am just showing a series of some textures in the middle of the screen) Okay, so, I'm a Unity newbie (but not new to development/programming) and finding that Unity really makes the hard stuff easy, but then things that seem like they should be easy (like dynamically-sized/positioned GUI layouts, or fading the screen) are harder than they should be! :-?
